Genoa Central Baseball takes down Fouke for first conference victory

FOUKE, AR (KTAL/KMSS) — On Monday, Genoa Central baseball headed over to Fouke for the first game conference play, and left with an 8-1 victory.

The Dragons stacked up three runs in the first to get out to an early lead, holding Fouke to just one run in the bottom of the first making it a 3-1 game going into the second inning.

Genoa Central tacked on two runs in both the second and third innings, making it a 7-1 game heading into the fourth.

Neither team put up any runs for the rest of the game until the top of the seventh, when a Braxton Robertson RBI single brought home William Spears for a final score of 8-1.

With one conference victory under its belt, Genoa Central will next play on Friday, April 4 hosting Centerpoint. First pitch is scheduled for 5 pm.
