Hermleigh ISD bus crash (DPS)

DPS reports the driver was traveling east down County Road 4114 when he could not make a left turn due to his speed, as well as the road being gravel and unlit. The bus then traveled into the intersection then off the road.

The driver was cited for unsafe speed, and DPS explained that, “unsafe speed is not alleging the driver was speeding, only that the bus was being operated at a speed greater than was prudent for the conditions of the roadway, lighting, etc.”
