Causeway bridge reopens, additional updates as severe weather crosses Louisiana

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The Causeway Bridge has been closed until further notice as severer weather makes its way across Southeast Louisiana on Monday, March 31.

Officers with the Causeway Police Department posted to X (Twitter), said the closure was due to thunderstorms, high winds, crosswinds and poor visibility.

WGNO meteorologists are currently tracking a line of storms quickly moving across the area bringing with it the potential damaging winds.

Other parts of the state have been placed under tornado warning.
