Arcadia man taken into custody after assaulting mother of his child; gun found inside vehicle

RUSTON, La. (KTVE/KARD)– According to the Lincoln Parish Journal, a Ruston woman reported an incident last week where the father of her child forced his way into her home and grabbed her by the neck. On March 21, 2025, 26-year-old Latario T. Davis of Arcadia was arrested by Ruston Police.

According to officers, Davis arrived at the victim’s home with a firearm. The woman claimed Davis dropped off their three-year-old child and when she attempted to close the door, he forced his way in and grabbed her by the neck. The victim was able to get away and contact the police.

Officers found Davis’s Red Ford Mustang from the woman’s description and the suspect was stopped and arrested on Tech Drive around 2:15 AM. Officers located a Glock pistol in his vehicle.

Davis was booked for Home Invasion and Violation of a Protective Order in connection with the incident as well as for Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm from a case in a 2024 investigated by RPD. His bail was set at $575,000.
