The Wolfe County Search and Rescue Team (WCSART) posted on Facebook that ground crews, along with search and rescue dogs, searched on Saturday across the middle fork of the Kentucky River in Breathitt County.
Team members reportedly covered more than a mile downstream from the missing person’s last known location.
“Part of the search plan was to also utilize the teams Jon boat with side scan sonar, but water levels prohibited this asset from being deployed,” WCSART officials said.
While Saturday’s operation may not have resulted in finding the missing person, rescue team members said other sites in need of further investigation were marked and provided to local authorities.
The search investigation remains ongoing.
