Kentucky State Police (KSP) posted on Facebook that around 4:15 a.m. on Sunday, troopers with Post 11 in London had been dispatched to Cart Bell Ridge Road after a man was found there who had been shot.
Deputies with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) had arrived at the scene first. When it was found that foul play may have been involved, KSP was asked to carry out a formal investigation.
Troopers wrote that the victim was identified as 46-year-old Berry Rainer Rose III, who was found outside his home. Mr. Rose was pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner’s Office.
State police said that after investigating, troopers found and arrested the suspect at a residence on Circle Road, who was identified as 60-year-old Norman E. McGuire.
McGuire was charged with first-degree murder and lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center.
KSP wrote that the investigation is still active, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
