PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — For the first time ever, the Indian festival of Holi came to downtown Portland with two days worth of family-friendly fun.
Known as the “Festival of Colors,” Holi celebrates the coming of Spring and equality for all. Portland’s gathering even featured organic flower petal colors straight from India.
During the festival, people traditionally throw colored water and powders.
The Festival of Holi continues Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m. in Pioneer Courthouse Square.
