Man arrested after Visalia police clock his bike at 113 mph

VISALIA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A motorcyclist was arrested after being clocked at traveling over 100 miles-per-hour while speeding down a major street, the Visalia Police Department says.

Officers say they’ve been cracking down on speeding and reckless driving in recent days, and as it happens, they were able to remove a dangerous driver off the streets Friday night.

Around 9:15 p.m., a traffic officer says they recorded the speed of 28-year-old Jacob Charest’s bike at a “shocking 113 MPH” as he traveled down Mooney Boulevard.

Charest was arrested after an officer pulled him over on suspicion of exhibition of speed and speeding over the legal limit.

“Speeding is deadly. It’s never worth risking your life or the lives of others just for the thrill, the adrenaline, or a few extra seconds on the road,” said Visalia Police Sergeant Henry Martinez.
