Flash Flood Warning in Acadia Parish

RAYNE, La. (KLFY) — Flash flood warning has impacted Acadia Parish residents in Rayne and storms don’t seem to be moving too quickly.

According to our KLFY meteorologists, they said radar estimates show anywhere from 2-5 inches of rain have fallen in the past couple of hours across parts of Acadia parish.

The Flash Flooding Warning for this area remains in effect until 5:45pm.

At 2:35pm the National Weather Service received a report of water getting into homes along Mainstreet in Rayne. Parish officials said reports

Video obtained by KLFY shows several cars stranded in high water. Drivers are advised to not drive through high water as it takes only 6 inches of moving water to sweep you off your feet and only a foot of moving water to sweep away a vehicle.

KLFY 10 will continue to monitor the storm and will update as information as it is released.
