Teen arrested after allegedly leading police on motorcycle chase in London

LONDON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A 17-year-old was arrested after allegedly fleeing from authorities on a stolen motorcycle in London.

The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office said a male juvenile was arrested around 8:51 p.m. on Thursday after an attempted traffic stop on a silver Yamaha motorcycle that allegedly sped through three red lights on Highway 192 in London.

He allegedly drove onto I-75 northbound for over 24 miles, “driving extremely recklessly at speeds more than 150 miles” and “nearly causing traffic crashes” during the process.

The teen exited at mile marker 62, where he was arrested at the Mount Vernon exit with the assistance of Kentucky State Police troopers.

Upon further investigation, police found that the motorcycle had allegedly been stolen.

  • Receiving stolen property $1000 or more but under $10,000
  • Speeding more than 26 mph over the speed limit
  • Reckless driving
  • First-degree fleeing or evading police—motor vehicle
  • Two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment—police officer is victim
  • One count of first-degree wanton endangerment
