Daytime highs Friday afternoon are in the 50s across the Wasatch Front with highs only in the lower 70s for SW Utah. The sky will feature mostly cloudy skies, but rain chances will be isolated in nature, primarily east of I-15. A couple rumbles of thunder and brief downpours will be possible for our eastern communities.
The main part of the storm system that will impact Utah will arrive on Saturday. This will lead to more widespread valley rain and mountain snow throughout the day. Rainfall amounts will generally average 0.25″ or less across northern Utah, with 4-8″ of snow possible for the northern mountains, 1-3″ for the central mountains, 6-10″ for the upper Cottonwoods, and a trace-2″ for higher mountain valleys through Sunday morning.
Sunday will be the pick-day of the weekend with partly cloudy skies and mainly dry conditions across Utah. Highs will remain close to average with highs in the 50s along the Wasatch Front and near 70 for SW Utah.
Another storm system will rotate east into the area to kickoff next week. Looks like isolated showers will be possible on Monday afternoon with a better chance for more widespread rain and snow showers on Tuesday into Wednesday. Temperatures will remain near normal and even below during this period.
The active pattern may continue with another storm system by the end of next week. Stay tuned!
