BlueStar’s first-ever 48-inch induction range wrangled the top design prize at last month’s Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS).
The company’s Platinum Series range was deemed the “Brand with the Biggest Bite” by a panel of judges at the show’s 10th Anniversary DesignBites awards competition.
Produced in Pennsylvania, the BlueStar range is notable for several industry firsts, including the largest cooking surface in its class, the manufacturer said. Its six oversized cooking zones include two expansive 11-inch zones — reportedly the largest available on the market — plus four 9-inch zones with up to 3,700 watts in boost mode and a 7,400-watt bridge function that’s ideal for oversized cookware.
The range also features a highly durable, matte-finish cooktop surface that is resistant to scratches, stains and fingerprints, and a patent-pending power level indicator light on each cooking zone, replicating the visual cue of a gas flame. The red light bar indicates the heat level and active zones, providing control and visual feedback similar to gas burners while leveraging induction’s speed and efficiency, the company said.
The range also packs two true convection ovens, one of which can accommodate commercial-sized 18 x 26-inch baking sheets, and has a 7-inch color touchscreen that controls eight cooking modes. And, in keeping with BlueStar’s vast custom options, the product is available in over 1,000 colors and 10 metal trim finishes.
The unilateral minimum resale price (UMRP) for the Platinum Series range starts at $15,995.
“We are excited to introduce such a unique product, that merges the visual cues of a traditional gas range with induction cooking,” says Ann Muth, BlueStar’s vice president of marketing. “In listening to consumer feedback, we focused on groundbreaking features that speak to chefs and home cooks alike.”
Founded in 1880 and based in Blandon, Pa., BlueStar produces handcrafted, high-performance ranges, cooktops, electric and gas wall ovens, complimentary kitchen ventilation hoods, and premium refrigeration. For more information, visit BlueStarCooking.com.
