Garner gives tips on keeping deer away from gardens

For area residents looking to maintain a garden, there’s always a concern of different animals and creatures ruining plants and vegetables. One of the most common animals to cause damage to a garden are deer, and unless a gardener is able to afford the installment of an 8-foot fence, it can be difficult to keep them away.

During the March 8 edition of Gardening in the Ozarks, host Vicki Garner said deer enjoy eating many different kinds of plants, especially hostas. She says one thing a gardener may be able to do is plant a hosta near another item deer don’t particularly care for.
