Eagle Mountain baseball coaches on leave after ‘inappropriate behavior’ on school trip

EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah (ABC4) — Cedar Valley High School’s boy’s baseball coaches were placed on leave after the district began an investigation into alleged “inappropriate behavior” during a team trip.

Alpine School District confirmed with ABC4 Thursday that the coaches were placed on leave following reports of “inappropriate behavior and inadequate supervision involving the Cedar Valley High baseball team during a school-sponsored athletic trip.”

The district is investigating the incident and did not release any additional information on the nature of the allegations. Since the coaches are on leave, the baseball game scheduled for Thursday night, March 27, has been canceled. The plan is to resume games per usual following Spring Break.

The district said its priority is to provide safe and rewarding experiences for students.

“We will continue to talk to those involved to determine how to improve our programs, policies, and procedures,” the district said.

This is a developing story. ABC4 will update this post as new information becomes available.
