Jason Krasley, a former officer with the Allentown Police Department in Lehigh County, was charged Thursday with rape, sexual assault, criminal solicitation, official oppression, and patronizing prostitutes in connection with an alleged incident occurring between September 2012 and December 2013.
In a separate case from May 2018, Krasley faces charges of aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, official oppression, and patronizing prostitutes, Allentown Police said.
The charges are all filed by Lehigh County Detectives.
Krasley was initially charged in January
“These charges in no way reflect the values or professionalism of the Allentown Police Department,” Allentown Police Chief Charles Roca said in a statement. “Our officers are hardworking professionals who show up every day to serve and protect the community, despite challenges and negativity.”
“I want to be clear to the community that we will continue to show up and build relationships with our stakeholders and address concerns that people have,” Roca added. “Since my appointment as Chief of Police in June 2021, I have prioritized strengthening policies, procedures, and oversight to exceed the standards set by our accreditation body.”
Krasley left the Allentown Police Department in 2021 to work for the U.S. Center for SafeSport. He was fired after he faced charges for stealing $5,500 from a drug bust.
