5 hurt in Somerset crash on Slate Branch Road

SOMERSET, Ky. (FOX 56) — Five people were taken to the hospital on Thursday after a crash involving four vehicles, according to the Somerset Fire Department (SFD).

Somerset fire officials posted on Facebook around 8 a.m. on Friday, March 28, that crews had been dispatched to the intersection of West KY 914 and Slate Branch Road in response to a four-vehicle injury crash with people trapped inside.

Crews reportedly found two people at the scene who were trapped in their vehicles and used extrication equipment to get them out. Four people were taken to the hospital by emergency personnel, and one was flown by helicopter.

“The cleanup of debris was extensive,” the SFD wrote.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
