PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — The Philadelphia Police Department announced on Wednesday that they are searching for a teenager wanted in connection to a deadly shooting that happened on a SEPTA bus Saturday afternoon.

Police are looking for any information on the whereabouts of Zayki Davis, 17.

According to Philadelphia Police, on March 22 just after 1 p.m., a group of five to six teenagers were involved in a fight at the back of a SEPTA bus.

The driver stopped the bus near N 40th Street & Girard Avenue. While the bus was stopped, one of the teenagers exited through the rear door. After exiting, one of the suspects fired a single shot back into the bus, hitting 15-year-old Zahkir Whitfield in the chest. He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

So far, no arrests have been made. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is investigating. Anyone with information is urged to contact the unit at 215-686-3334.

As with all homicides in the City of Philadelphia, a $20,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
