YOUNGSVILLE, La. (KLFY) — It’s set to be an action-packed night on Saturday at the Youngsville Sports Complex as Ragin’ Fighting Championships hosts RFC1.
The event will be spotlighting some of the best and brightest young stars in mixed martial arts. Jared Conques, RFC Chief Marketing Officer, said that this is the first event of it’s kind that is setting up to be a special night.

“This is RFC’s first event we’ve ever put on in the Acadiana area, and I can tell you it’s already shaping up to be not just the biggest event in our area, but probably maybe one of the biggest events the state has ever seen outside of UFC events that have gone on.” Conques said.
Conques told KLFY 10 the action packed night will have a 16-fight card featuring five pro fighters dominating each other for the title.
The five pro fighters on the card will be Vance Shaw out of Headkicks MMA, Drake Pellegrin out of Gladiators Academy of Lafayette, along with Rylan Melancon out of Gladiators Academy of Lafayette, and C.J. Henny out of both Acadiana Jujitsu and Headkicks MMA.
Conques also said that their will be a number of MMA Stars in the building from the UFC ready to see what the talent Acadiana has to offer.
“We anticipate having numerous UFC veterans in the house. A couple of other special guests. I can’t give out names for sure, but I can tell you for sure that there will be multiple UFC veterans in the house watching these fights go down.” Conques said.
The doors will be open at 6 p.m. the fights will start at 7p.m. And the action is not going to stop until the final bell rings for the main event with Eric Scanlan versus Jason Slaydon in what’s sure to be a fireworks-filled fight.”
