The parts of a vehicle that you can upgrade include 4WD, Tires, Suspension and Engine. These upgrades cost you coins as well and can make your vehicle easy to drive.

The game screen of Hill Climb Racing has two pedals, the gas and brake pedals, located on the bottom-right and bottom-left. The gas pedal is for accelerating the vehicle while the brake pedal is for slowing it down. Two dials are located in the middle which represents the speed and the boost speed. On the top-left corner of the game screen, you will find the distance meter and the fuel meter in addition to the coins and gems indicator. Over on the top-right corner, you have the pause button which can be used for stopping the game at any moment. In each level of a stage, you have to reach a certain distance in order to advance to the next level.
