DELANO – A state police helicopter assisted rescuers in finding a missing woman after a crash in Delano Township over the weekend.
State Police at Frackville said they were called to Grier Avenue between Interstate 81 and the horseshoe curve south of Delano around 6:30am Saturday morning.
Troopers said a vehicle had backed into the woods in that area, striking trees.
The driver of the vehicle, troopers were told, was potentially suffering from a medical episode and walking in the woods.
A State Police helicopter assisted in finding the woman about 225 yards from the car in thick bushes.
First responders from across the area assisted in getting to her and and bringing her to safety.
She was taken to an area hospital for evaluation and her vehicle was towed.
