Officials said Ergon Refining is expanding processing capabilities at its Vicksburg refinery to include gasoline production. To support these efforts, the company is investing in facility upgrades that will increase production capacity and include infrastructure connecting to its Vicksburg fuels terminal where gasoline and diesel fuel products are sold.
“Today, there aren’t many places you’d go around the world that have not been impacted in some way by the specialty solutions produced at our Vicksburg refinery. I’m incredibly proud of the work our employees do to continue our legacy of quality products and services that make a positive global impact. As we move forward, we’re proud to collaborate with local and state partners, investing in the economic success of the place we call home,” said Kris Patrick, Ergon president & CEO.
The Mississippi Development Authority (MDA) is providing assistance for road improvements. The city of Vicksburg and Warren County are supporting the project, as well.
“This project will have a profound positive impact on our city—creating high-paying jobs, strengthening the Port of Vicksburg and positioning us for continued economic development success,” said Vicksburg Mayor George Flaggs, Jr.
The company plans to complete its expansion in Vicksburg by 2027.
