Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to Lindenwood around 10:15 p.m., where a 2020 Ford Escape was found abandoned in the northbound lane of traffic near East Mowers Road.
Police said the vehicle had heavy front-end damage from striking the guardrail on the east side of the roadway but was unoccupied.
Investigators identified the driver as Amber Lopez, 33. She was arrested on charges of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Improper Lane Usage, Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Failure to Report Property Damage, Unauthorized Parking on the Roadway, and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle.
Lopez was processed at the Ogle County Jail and then released with a notice to appear at a future court date.
