Cannabis dispensary damaged in smash and grab on North Side

CHICAGO — A North Side dispensary was damaged early Wednesday in an attempted smash and grab.

According to police, officers responded to an alarm at a cannabis dispensary in the 4700 block of North Milwaukee Avenue in the city’s Portage Park neighborhood around 2 a.m.

Upon arrival, police found a vehicle inside the store. The vehicle had jumped the curb and crashed through the front window, police said.

No one was in the store at the time. It is unknown if anything was stolen.

No one is in custody.

Police are investigating.
