Marqui Burfict was booked into the Taylor County Jail on a kidnapping charge Tuesday in connection to the allegations.
Police say Burfict was involved in an argument with his girlfriend at a residence in north Abilene, and during that argument, he allegedly became angry, took his girlfriend’s 1-year-old, and left the residence. Burfict is not the biological parent of this child.
The child was later located with Burfict at his home. Burfict was arrested and, “the child was released unharmed to her family,” according to police.
Burfict is currently being held in the Taylor County Jail without bond. No further information has been released.
