WEST JORDAN, Utah (ABC4) — A man was taken to the hospital in critical condition on Tuesday night after a hit-and-run between a motorcycle and an SUV in West Jordan. Roads in the area have been closed.
According to officials with the West Jordan Police Department, police responded to 8500 South and Redwood Road just after 8:30 p.m. after receiving reports of the crash. Witnesses reported seeing a man in the road, and the roads in the area have been closed.
“There is a crash closing both directions of Redwood Road NB at 8200 South and SB at 8600 South. Expect delays and avoid the area if possible,” the Utah Department of Transportation said in an alert online.
The SUV, which was described as being dark in color, was last seen traveling westbound.
A spokesperson with West Jordan PD told ABC4.com that a crash team is currently at the scene to investigate. The road closures are expected to last several hours, according to officials.
No further information has been released by officials at this time.
