New Hampshire man arrested after ISP child sex trafficking investigation
MADISON COUNTY, Ind. — An Indiana State Police investigation into reported child sex trafficking recently led to the arrest of a New Hampshire man.

According to a news release from the Indiana State Police, 21-year-old Dominic William Mudgett, a Boscawen, New Hampshire resident, has been arrested on the following preliminary charges:

  • Three counts of promotion of child sexual trafficking, each a Level 3 felony
  • One count of dissemination of matter harmful to minors, a Level 6 felon

The release said that Mudgett reportedly contacted a juvenile through social media and offered to pay them for nude photos. Indiana State Police were notified of the incident in October 2024.

After a months-long investigation, the release said that detectives identified Mudgett as the suspect. the Merrimack County Prosecutor’s Office in New Hampshire issued search warrants for his vehicle and home. Mudgett was arrested near his New Hampshire home on March 18.

“We will continue to work with law enforcement to ensure that justice is served for victims of sex crimes, no matter where the perpetrator is located,” Andrew Hanna, the chief deputy prosecutor for Madison County, said in the release.

The release said that Mudgett is being held at the Merrimack County Jail in New Hampshire where he is “awaiting extradition back to Indiana.”
