Mississippi’s municipal primary elections one week away

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Mississippi’s Municipal Primary Election is one week away.

In Hinds County, Ward 4 Election Commissioner Linda Sanders said almost 500 poll workers have been trained for the April 1 election.

“We taught them to identify the splits because of the redistrict. We do have some splits, and we wanted them to be prepared for that. And we’re looking good, and we’re excited about the upcoming election. I just want the voters to come in and bring the proper credentials so they can get their vote in,” Sanders said.

The last day to vote in-person absentee is March 29. Mail-in absentee ballots must be postmarked on or before election day.
