Girl ran into street, hit by car in Wissinoming: police

PHILADELPHIA (WPHL) — An 11-year-old girl is fighting for her life after getting hit by a car.

Around 8 a.m. Tuesday, a Kia Sorento was traveling northbound on Torresdale Avenue. According to the Philadelphia Police Department, an 11-year-old girl ran into the street between two parked cars and was hit by the Kia near Torresdale Avenue and Fraley Street.

The girl was taken to St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and placed in critical condition.

Police say the driver of the Kia stayed on the scene. The Crash Investigation Division is investigating.
