Abilene garbage truck dumps fiery load in south Abilene lot

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A City of Abilene garbage truck had to dump its load in a south Abilene parking lot after it caught fire on Monday afternoon.

Around 1:30 p.m., fire crews responded to a parking lot near the intersection of Loop 322 and Tannehill Drive, where smoke was visible coming from the truck. Crews worked to safely remove the fiery load from the vehicle.

At this time, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and no injuries have been reported.
