Several arrests in Leesville, Louisiana, after recent investigations

LEESVILLE, La. (WNTZ) — The Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office announced multiple arrests following recent investigations, Sheriff Sam Craft said.

On March 21, deputies arrested William Franklin McCarthy, 39, of Evans, on one count of aggravated obstruction of a highway. McCarthy remains in the VPSO jail as bond has not been set.

Also arrested was Kevin Arndt, 43, of Leesville, who faces multiple charges, including two counts of domestic abuse battery, one count of home invasion, one count of interfering with emergency communications, one count of theft, one count of domestic abuse aggravated assault, one count of home invasion – intimidation, and one count of criminal damage to property. Arndt remains in custody without bond.

On March 22, deputies took Shelia Johnson, 63, of Pitkin, into custody on charges of simple battery and disturbing the peace by language. Johnson’s bond was set at $2,162, which she posted before being released.

On March 23, Timothy Scott Norris, 50, of Rosepine, was arrested on charges of battery of a dating partner by strangulation and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He remains in the VPSO jail as bond has not been set.

The investigations remain ongoing.
