ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Public School Superintendent Dr. Ehren Jarrett announced he would not be seeking a renewal of his contract, ending his 12 years with the school district on June 30th, 2026.
Jarrett made the announcement on Monday morning.
“While I have made the decision not to seek another contract with the Rockford Public Schools, I plan to be fully engaged with my duties as RPS superintendent until my current contract ends on June 30, 2026,” Jarrett said.
Jarrett became Rockford School Superintendent in 2013.
The timing of his announcement will give the district time to conduct a search for the next superintendent.
