Monday morning storm knocks out power for thousands in Acadiana

(KLFY) — Thousands are without electric power this morning after a series of storms swept through the area Monday morning.

According to poweroutage.us, a website that tracks outages, over 37,000 people statewide are without power this morning, the vast majority in Acadiana.

As of 7:30 a.m., the parish hardest hit is Acadia, where over 14,000 customers, nearly half of all those in the parish, are without electricity.

St. Landry Parish reports 5,868 outages, Lafayette has 3,736 and Iberia shows 2,311.
