6 sentenced after Muncie drug ring dismantled

MUNCIE, Ind. — A joint operation spearheaded by federal and local law enforcement agencies led to the dismantling of a drug trafficking ring operating in Muncie.

“This is a significant victory in the ongoing efforts to target and dismantle drug trafficking organizations that send a flow of illegal drugs into our communities and threaten public safety,” said FBI Indianapolis Special Agent in Charge Herbert J. Stapleton.

Six individuals were ultimately charged and sentenced in connection to the drug trafficking takedown.

According to court documents, Jamarr Hill, 30, of Muncie was the ringleader of the drug ring. Hill would obtain large quantities of drugs from Rodolfo Silva in San Diego, California, and then push the drugs into Munice and other Indiana communities with the help of his associates.

These associates included Terry Hill, 49, of Muncie; Lance McGee, 32, of Muncie and Nakevius Shannon, 33, of Muncie.

Joseph Haskins of Muncie was also busted during the investigation into the drug ring and ultimately charged with intent to distribute meth.

Authorities said the drug ring operated for most of 2022 and distributed no less than 2,004 grams of fentanyl, 10 kilograms of cocaine and more than 200 pounds of meth.

“Drug traffickers like these defendants, responsible for pushing poison from across the country into our neighborhoods, must be held accountable for the suffering they cause in search of quick profits,” said John E. Childress, acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.

All six individuals charged in this investigation have since been sentenced.

Jamarr Hill, 30, Muncie Conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute controlled substances, money laundering,  and conspiracy to make a false statement in connection with purchasing a firearm 17 years imprisonment, 5 years supervised release.
