A transport driver, according to an arrest citation, told officers he was hired to haul a 2017 Corvette to Detroit, Michigan. But when he arrived, three 2025 Corvettes were waiting to be transported, and a man later identified as 21-year-old Deante Walker was rushing the transaction.

Officers noted the driver said one car was damaged on the bottom, and he felt like the transaction was “weird.”

According to court documents, the VINs matched three Corvettes that were reported stolen earlier in the day from the Corvette Plant.

Officers noted that the investigation into the other five missing vehicles is ongoing.

Walker was arrested and charged with three counts of receiving stolen property of $10,000 or more, first-degree criminal mischief, third-degree feeling or evading police, and resisting arrest.
