According to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Christopher Aucoin, 35, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals. Aucoin has been wanted since July 2024 by LPSO and the Denham Springs Police Department.
DSPD Chief Rodney Walker said officers were responding to a woman with stab wounds on LA Hwy 16 near John Martin Lane on July 10, 2024. The victim was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
After an investigation, officers learned the woman was reportedly beaten inside the vehicle while traveling on Hwy 16. While attempting to escape the suspect, later identified as Aucoin, the victim was struck by a knife. Aucoin continued driving from the scene. Authorities found the vehicle, abandoned in a parking lot.
LPSO Sheriff Jason Ard shared details about an ongoing investigation after deputies were alerted of an argument between Aucoin and a female victim. Aucoin was reportedly armed with a knife and battered the victim. He later forced the woman into a vehicle while armed and fled the scene. The woman was able to escape from the moving vehicle.
Aucoin was arrested in Ascension Parish on charges of domestic abuse battery (serious bodily injury), domestic abuse aggravated assault, second-degree kidnapping, attempted second-degree murder, armed robbery and carjacking.
