Deputies investigate shooting deaths of 2 dogs in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY, Ind. — Deputies are investigating after two dogs were reportedly shot and killed on a private property located near the Boone and Clinton County line.

According to a news release, an investigation was launched on March 18 after the Humane Society of Clinton County contacted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office to inform them of two missing chocolate Labrador Retrievers.

The Investigations Division and Animal Control for BCSO executed a search warrant three days later at a Boone County property where detectives believe the two dogs were shot and killed. As of this article’s publication, deputies have not been able to recover the bodies of the deceased dogs.

The incident remains under active investigation.
