Centenary’s “Beast Feast” culinary festival returns

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — Calling all foodies, chefs, and home cooks, Centenary Alumni Association’s “Beast Feast: Something for Everyone” is returning, and they hope you arrive hungry.

The annual festival-style fundraiser features a culinary adventure for ticketholders to sample various meat, seafood, and “off the menu” items.  Vegetarian/vegan options will also be available.

Centenary is still looking for cooking teams to join the fun, and compete for the chance to win the “Best of Beast Feast” award.

On April 26, professional chefs or self-proclaimed grill masters will lead teams in a competition for the award. There are four categories to choose from:  Beef/Poultry/Pork, Seafood, Wild Game, and Vegan/Vegetarian.

Beast Feast is a fundraiser for Centenary College student scholarships. It is held at Centenary College’s Jones Rice Field, 2911 Centenary Blvd, Shreveport.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $40 at the door.  Children 12 and under are free.

Centenary details tickets provide access to sample-sized food portions from all vendors, unlimited sodas or bottled water, and a commemorative koozie. Special couples ($150) and VIP tickets ($75) offer extra perks, such as bottomless beast feast cups, premium craft beer, and early entry.

“In my first year leading Beast Feast, I’m proud to see how Centenary College’s bicentennial is bringing our alumni, families, and local community together,” said Hannah RachalHughes, Director of Alumni & Family Relations.  “Partnering with local businesses and individuals has been key to making this event successful. Their support helps us provide scholarships that will allow future generations of students to succeed and contribute back to our shared community. I can’t wait to see this event come together!”
