The Williamsburg Police Department (WPD) posted on Facebook that on Thursday, March 20, officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in response to reports of a suspicious vehicle there.
When officers arrived, they encountered Michael Lawson, 33, who was allegedly “highly intoxicated.” Lawson was found to have a warrant for parole violation and was arrested.
Following his arrest, a search showed that he allegedly had methamphetamine and other illegal contraband, the WPD wrote.
In addition to charges connected with his parole violation warrant, Lawson was charged with:
- first-degree possession of a controlled substance, third offense: methamphetamine
- Second-degree possession of a controlled substance – unspecified
- Third-degree possession of a controlled substance – unspecified
- Public intoxication: controlled substance excluding alcohol
- Possession of marijuana
He was lodged in the Whitley County Jail.
