Second Lake Zurich HS cheer coach charged with money laundering, theft

LAKE ZURICH, Ill. — A second former Lake Zurich High School cheer coach is facing felony charges related to a theft investigation.

Kaylin Dietrich, 33, of Crystal Lake, is charged with two counts of theft and two counts of money laundering following an investigation that began in Feb. 2024.

Authorities believe Dietrich, along with Gabriele Kelly, 26, of Algonquin, worked together to divert over $38,000 from the cheer program.

Dietrich turned herself into police on Thursday.

The investigation remains open, according to police.
