Emergency crews battle fire at South Side apartment

CHICAGO — Emergency crews were called to the scene of a fire that broke out at a South Side apartment on Thursday afternoon.

The blaze erupted at a building in the 7500 block of South Kingston Avenue.

SkyCam 9 was over the scene around 6:30 p.m. when smoke could be seen billowing from the building as crews battled the large flames from outside.

Crews could also be seen on the roof of the building as they worked to get the fire under control.

Currently, it is unclear what sparked the fire or if anyone was injured.
