Brownwood woman killed in crash near Comanche County Medical Center

COMANCHE COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – A Brownwood woman died in a crash near Comanche County Medical Center Thursday afternoon.

First responders arrived at State Highway 16, about half a mile north of CR 413, around 1:18 p.m. for a two-vehicle collision.

According to the preliminary investigation, a driver attempted to turn left onto SH 16 from a private drive at Comanche County Medical Center but failed to yield to oncoming traffic. A pickup then struck the sedan.

The sedan’s driver, identified as 47-year-old Kelley Jo Wellmaker of Brownwood, was pronounced dead. The pickup driver sustained minor injuries.
