On March 18, at 1:45 p.m., police were called to report “an infant inside a car in distress”.
Officers attempted to render lifesaving aid to the four-month-old male infant but then transported the child to Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus.
Despite attempted lifesaving measures, the infant was later pronounced dead.
Police say the death is currently under investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Lakewood Township Police Department, and Ocean County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation Unit.
