‘Get away from me’: More videos detail volatile relationship between Exeter officer and ex wife who killed him
PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KGPE) – More volatile recordings were played before a South Valley jury in the trial of Erika Sandoval.

The 38-year-old shot her ex-husband Daniel Green after breaking into the Exeter Police officer’s Goshen home in 2015.

“Not even a doctor could fix you,” said Green in one of the recordings.

“Why are you so angry,” said Sandoval in another recording.

The recordings were just snippets of the two’s five-year on-and-off relationship.

“Don’t touch me,” said Green in one of the recordings.

In a recorded argument from 2012, the two get into an argument shortly after Sandoval found out she was pregnant.

After blocking the front door, Sandoval corners Green in the bathroom where he tried to crawl out of the window.

“Get away from me,” said Green.

“Stop,” responded Sandoval.

“The cops are going to come,” said Green.

Despite the insults, allegations of abuse, and infidelity, the two kept coming back to each other.

“You are not going to slap me a bunch of times,” said Green. “I ******* hate you, I want you to know that.”

Green was recording the arguments, sometimes without Sandoval knowing.

California law requires consent from both parties during recordings.

However, there are exceptions, including when the person recording believes it will capture a crime such as extortion, kidnapping or any violence.

Sandoval was on trial in 2019 for this case but it ended in a hung jury, which is a mistrial.

Back then, her attorney questioned her on the stand only for a day and the cross-examination lasted four days.

This time her attorneys questioned her for four days, which means this trial could possibly go into the middle of April.

It started on Feb. 6. Court is dark the rest of the week and will pick up on March 25.
