Diver found dead in Jackson County

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — A diver has died despite a rescue operation in Jackson County, just over the Alabama-Florida state line.

On Tuesday March 18, at around 1:15 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call about three missing and overdue divers at Twin Caves.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, a rescue operation was launched and two divers were rescued from the caves safely.

However, the third diver was found dead in the caves, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says.

The diver’s identity has not been released.
