SHENANDOAH – While Shenandoah is losing a full-time police officer to the township, they are reinstating another full-time officer whose employment has been in a back-and-forth limbo since September.
Council voted 4-3 to reinstate the ex-officer whom they did not identify. The only police officer who was fired and could be subject to reinstatement would be ex-Captain Cody Applegate,
Solicitor Shane Hobbs said the officer’s attorney proposed the reinstatement.
Councilman Joe Gawrylik made the motion, seconded by Council Vice-President Mike “Zeckie” Uholik.
Gawrylik, Uholik, Diane Korenda, and Council President Joe Boris voted yes.
James Burke, Katie Catizone, and Michael Whitecavage voted no, with Whitecavage emphasizing his vote as a “hard no.”
Applegate will have the rank of Lieutenant upon reinstatement.
