According to police, detectives are speaking to a person of interest.
The shooting happened around 9:50 p.m. Tuesday at the 69th Street Red Line Station on the 10-100 block of West 69th Street.
Police said the woman, approximately 25-35-years-old, was in an argument with another woman on the CTA Red Line platform when the offender took out a gun and shot the victim.
The victim was shot in the neck and transported in critical condition to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, police said.
The identity of the woman has not yet been released.
The offender fled the scene.
No one in custody and Area One Detectives are investigating.
