Cooling trend begins: A cold front will sweep through the ArkLaTex on Wednesday bringing quite a few clouds. There will be a lag between the arrival of the front and the colder air behind it. Temperatures on Wednesday morning will be well above normal as we will begin in the low to middle 60s. Daytime highs on Wednesday will ease into the 70s. The colder air will arrive on Wednesday night and Thursday as lows will dip into the 30s and 40s. Daytime highs will ease into the 60s.
Very little rain but lots of wind: It appears that upper-level support for producing rain will be very limited as the cold front moves through the ArkLaTex. Futurecast shows clouds increasing over the area Tuesday night and decreasing on Wednesday as the wind shifts around from the south to the west. We will see sustained winds from now through Wednesday of 15 to 25 mph. Gusts will likely be 30 to 40 mph.
10-Day Outlook: Your 10-day forecast shows warmer air quickly returning to the ArkLaTex by the weekend when highs will warm back into the 80s. Lows will return to the 50s. Our only chance of rain during the period will be on Sunday when storms are looking likely and severe weather will be possible. Next week is looking dry and pleasant with highs in the 70s and 80s. Low next week will mainly be in the 50s and 60s.
