The Indivisible Coalition and over 100 local constituents of Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick gathered in front of his office Monday to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day by sharing their Fitzpatrick-themed limericks and filling out constituent contact forms for the elusive lawmaker who hasn’t held a town hall in years.
Attendees listened to the moving remarks of Thomas Taft and the dozens of limericks that participants brought before heading down to the corner of Routes 332 and 413 with the signs they brought, to the great approval (as judged by honking) of passing motorists.
“Brian Fitzpatrick has been a coward and complicit in Trump’s rise to power,” said Taft, a climate activist from Chalfont and the featured speaker at the rally. “In my work as a teacher and non-profit administrator we have always stressed the importance of honesty and transparency, but Brian Fitzpatrick’s unwillingness to stand up to Trump’s autocratic power grab is a vivid illustration of how little he prioritizes the people he purports to represent.”
“In his years in office, Brian Fitzpatrick has been a reliable vote for the MAGA-Republican agenda under Speaker “MAGA Mike” Johnson’s leadership,” said Kierstyn Zolfo of Indivisible Bucks County’s leadership team. “We are confronted with cruel Republican policies like the Trump Administration cutting of over $1 billion in school lunch aid, and our Congressman won’t even address the constituents who have children that will be harmed by his party’s actions. His silence in the face of these and similar outrages speaks volumes to the residents of our community.”
