While the calendar may say St Patrick’s Day, it’s a snow day for Rut Ramirez and her friends.
“I’ve only seen snow twice and the last time we came here there wasn’t this much,” said Rut Ramirez.
They are some of the few to brave the pelting snow and fast winds as the surrounding community is under a Winter Weather advisory
“We are trying to be here till sundown but because it’s super strong… we don’t know yet,” Ramirez said.
Once the storm passes, Shaver Lake Sports hopes more people head to the mountain to play in the snow.
It had been a relatively slow season until things started picking up last week.
“It has been a pretty dismal water year not much snow out there for people to play in but having this snow is awesome. I think the next few weekends are going to be great for skiing and snow-playing,” said Tyler Powell with Shaver Lake Sports.
