JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – One person has died after a vehicle left a road, crashed and caught fire in Jackson, police said.
The incident occurred on Medgar Evers Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, March 17.
Deputy Chief Marco Johnson said the vehicle left the roadway and hit a concrete pillar of the Natchez Trace Parkway bridge. The vehicle was engulfed in flames.
Johnson said the unidentified driver was inside the vehicle and died. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
